Phantom is O.K.
I was a little underwhelmed, maybe that's why I was very eager to see what all the hub-bub was about. The 1 hour and 15 minute first act seemed to go on forever, and I know it's about an opera, but there is too much opera music. The theater at the Bob Carr was a little warm, and we must have been in the late row because we had at least 4 different parties arrive well after the first act had started. But, the 55-minute second act was more what I expected - it was very exciting and suspenseful. I guess it comes down to your taste in music, and I prefer the songs of Grease over those opera tunes. I still don't rate it as high as Miss Saigon, which I saw a few years back on Broadway. I think if I saw Grease, I would like that a bit more as well. I really got into the second act, and it made the whole show very good.
